Why Is It Called The 1000 Cranes Project?

The Legend of 1,000 Cranes teaches that since cranes live for more than 100 years, they are sacred. And, if a sick person folds 1,000 origami cranes, they may become well again.

Sadako Sasaki developed leukemia after the atomic bomb was dropped on her city. She started folding 1000 cranes in hopes that she would be cured, but made only 644 before she passed.

The 1000 Cranes Project allows me to take this journey with you.

My wish is for full recovery for all of us.
